DEFEND BROOKLYN | October 31, 2006 | 22:27

There's no need to grab perfectly viable, privately owned land for a project as wrong-headed (and widely-opposed by those it will most affect) as the Atlantic Yards travesty.

We the ordinary, hard-working (read: not as Rich as Ratner, his cohorts, and his cronies who back this farcical project) citizens of Brooklyn say no to having the character of our borough besmirched by a mammoth and insulting development that is better suited for the West Side of Manhattan, or anywhere else but Brooklyn. Not in our downtown.

It's bad enough Ratner has already infested our county's crossroads with the warts that are his Atlantic Terminal and Atlantic Center buildings. He is sewing architectural ruin at every opportunity and needs to be stopped. He's the worst thing to happen to Brooklyn since Robert Moses.
